New Agriculture Instructor Joins Atwater High School Team

The Atwater High School Agriculture Department has enthusiastically welcomed Ms. Jackie Ioimo to the instructional / FFA team. Ms. Ioimo is from Santa Maria, California and recently graduated from Chico State with her B.S. degree in Agricultural Science.

Influenced by her grandparents who were directly involved in agriculture production with row crops and dairy cattle, Ms. Ioimo’s career endeavors focused on being an agriculture teacher. “My teaching philosophy is to make a positive influence on the lives of young people,” said Ioimo.  Her interest in moving to the central valley and teaching at Atwater was due to the strong agriculture program and community support. “Atwater is recognized state-wide as being one of the top agriculture education programs in the state of California and being part of this team is a tremendous opportunity,” she stated.

Ms. Ioimo is currently teaching Ag Biology and Floral Design. She will be advising the student sheep projects and coaching the FFA Floral Design and Grapevine judging teams later this school year.

FFA provides students with numerous opportunities to experience premier leadership, personal growth and academic success through agricultural education. For more information on how your son/daughter can get involved, contact your local high school agriculture program or log onto www.AtwaterFFA.org.
