Large Turnout for FFA “Movie Night” Meeting
Over 120+ Atwater High School agriculture students attended the school year’s annual FFA “Movie Night” meeting earlier this month. The January “Movie Night” meeting was held in the school cafeteria with the 2017-2018 FFA Chapter Officers performing the official FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Once the business portion of the meeting concluded, students were treated to the film “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2”.
The chapter meeting consisted of committee reports which included the chapter’s upcoming events such as the Fair Exhibitor meeting which is taking place on January 24th, Super Saturday, MFE/ALA taking place next month, and the project competition banquet which is being held in February. Other items discussed on the agenda included announcements pertaining to the annual FFA BBQ and National FFA week.
“I had a lot of fun at the meeting” said Atwater High School freshman student Simarjot Gandhoke. “I am very excited to get involved with the FFA.” The Atwater FFA conducts monthly meetings that are organized, prepared, and run by the FFA chapter officers and the high school’s Ag Leadership class. “It’s great to see students pull together and work as a team in putting together such an exciting event, FFA is a positive organization to get involved with because it is lots of fun, it keeps you interested, and everybody is a family,” said FFA advisor Natalie Borba.
