Mediterranean native. Low, branching, trailing plant to 1 ft. high and wide, with narrow or lance-shaped leaves 1/2 to 2 in. long. Crowded clusters of tiny, four-petaled white flowers have a sweet honey fragrance. In cold-winter regions, blooms from spring until frost; in mild climates, blooms all year from self-sown seedlings. Seeds are sometimes included in wildflower mixes or erosion-control mixes for bare or disturbed earth.
