Welding Technology I

Welding Tech I provides individualized “hands-on” instruction in developing fabrication skills in arc and oxyacetylene welding. Course content includes safety, welding methods, welding rod, metals, and equipment.

Students will develop skills in welding metal in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. One semester is allotted for students to design, construct, and evaluate an agricultural related project of their choice.

This course provides 2+2 articulation with Merced College and provides the student eligibility for all FFA activities throughout the year. Student projects are encouraged to be showcased at local county fairs.

Welding Technology II

Required: Welding Technology I

Welding Tech II provides advanced instruction with a concentration in metal inert gas and tungsten inert gas (M.I.G / T.I.G.) welding. This course develops and strengthens skills learned in Welding Tech I.

Students will have the opportunity to design and construct their own metal projects.

This course provides the student eligibility for all FFA activities throughout the year. Student projects are encouraged to be showcased at local county fairs.
